Ingredients
Cold brew concentrate
-
1 cup (80 g)whole coffee beans
-
3 cups (720 mL)water, room temperature or cold
Vanilla cream
-
1 cup (240 mL)vegan whipping cream†
-
½ cup (120 mL)unsweetened soy milk
-
Final touches
-
1½ cups (360 mL)cold water
-
1¼ cups (139 g)ice cubes
Directions
- Grind the coffee beans to a medium-coarse consistency.
- In a French press or large mason jar, combine the coffee grinds and water. Stir and top with the lid. Steep at room temperature or in the fridge for 12 - 24 hours. The longer it sits, the stronger the coffee taste.
- To make the vanilla cream, combine the cream, soy milk, vanilla, and agave syrup in a separate jar, and store in the fridge until ready to use.
- The next day, place a strainer over a bowl lined with cheese cloth (or nut milk bag). Strain the grounds through the cheesecloth. If desired, filter the coffee through a second time to remove any residual ground beans. The liquid that remains in the bowl is now your cold brew coffee concentrate!
- To make the drink, fill a glass with ice. Then pour in 2 parts cold brew concentrate, 1 part cold water, and 1 part vanilla cream. Stir and enjoy!
Notes
- †We used a 23% fat soy-based liquid cream used to traditionally make whipped cream.
Storage
- The cold brew concentrate can be kept in the fridge in a large glass container for up to 1 week.
- The vanilla cream can also be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days.

This is what I have been craving! Thanks
Me encanta lo haré ya mismo
I make a coffein free version using decaf grains. Also very good !
Great! So simple and amazing taste! Thanks!
Tasty. Pouring the vanilla cream in the coffee is also satisfying.
omg it is so delicious <33333
I don't really drink coffee but I really liked this one, lovely on the warm days when a warm drink just doesn't work.
Enjoyed this, thought it would be sweeter but actually, the sweetness was enough! Also froze some coffee so used some coffee ice cubes too. So good. Looking forward to making more of your drink recipes!
Very flavorful! Great recipe.
Hi sadya about the coffee, i don't have coffee beans but i already have the coffee grounds... How many grams will i use? Is it the same with 1 cup?
This drink was really good i loved it! 😀
Thanks ❤
This looks great! I'd love to try this recipe.
Unfortunately, we don't have a cream that is pourable but whips in Australia (and we don't have a soy based option here). We can get Oatly cream. It's not the whippable kind, and has 13% fat, not 23%. Do you think that would work/be worthwhile or should I just replace the cream with more plant milk?
I should add that a coffee 'creamer' is really not a thing in Australia, so I'm not sure what this is trying to replicate. This makes finding subs a little harder :-)
This was my first time brewing my own cold brew and I was super intimidated by it before. However, I felt so much reassured after watching your video! The flavour is so much more smoother and refreshing than the regular kind which is so new to me, I love it. I've now been making cold brews for over a month and it is the best feeling knowing my coffee beans are put to great use, thank you so much Sadia for this new confidence to try new things!! Much love <3
Love this coffee recipe! The vanilla cream is exactly what I have been looking for! Thank you so very much. And a very beautiful website!
Something good to look forward to in the mornings.
I've been making this coffee the whole summer, it's delicious, refreshing, and the sweetness from the vanilla cream is just heaven!
I just made it, now waiting the 12 hours, can't wait! Thanks for an awesome recipe as always x
OMG so good ! i love coffee , hot and cold . I used some cashew/almond milk and was very creamy as well . thank you. I used 80 g coffee and 3 cups water and i ended up with just over 2 cups of coffee; i strained it with a nutbag and then again with coffee filter for the small residues , Yum!!
I was tired this morning but after I just tried my cold brew - I can make it through today. Thank you for this recipe!!
Thank you so much for this recipe Sadia, my husband and I are loving it!
I made a few switches based on the ingredients that were available to me - oat cream and cashew milk instead of soy, maple syrup instead of agave and I also melted a little amount of chocolate into the milk before I added it to the cream mix to give more of a mocha taste.
A definite go-to for the future, merci!
Hi, Sadia, everyone! I've been making this every week since you posted the recipe (this and the other ones actually). What can I say? These are perfect options for summer days and to be honest, they are way better than the ones served at the cafés. :-)
I have a question though: When measuring a cup of coffee beans, it is actually around 82-84 grams - at least with the measuring cup that I am using. Are you using a specific one? The mL of water are the same for me, too.
Thank you for everything!
We had a bit of a heat wave in the UK last week and I started making this every afternoon to cool down! Iced coffee is delicious but this recipe makes it perfect! :)
This is amazingly delicious and refreshing for a hot summer day when you want to grab a light mid-day pick me up! 🤤 I’m making this again and again and then AGAIN💃🏻💛
The beverage tastes great! Would you make a sugar-free version of these lovely iced beverages?
This cold brew coffee recipe is now our most essential staple for these hot summer mornings. With a huge plus of batch-making and having delicious and refreshing coffee ready for every day of the week. It literally makes our mornings so much more enjoyable (: We are using the oatmeal barista milk, but would love to give the vegan cream a try as well.
I had a week full of work and looked forward to the break and the iced coffee every day. I didn't have any vegan cream on hand, but just used barista oat drink and that tasted really good too. Thank you for this recipe!
Found your video on cold brew coffee today and instantly gave it a try, since I had some cold coffee sitting in the fridge.
I expected it to be good - but this is next level! It tastes amazing!
Thank your for all the tasty recipes. I love your videos, they always make me to run to the kitchen and try your ideas immediately!
This is SO SO GOOD!!! 😍
I used to hate Cold Brew but decided to give it a try after you posted the video on your YouTube Channel....and now I'm addicted! :D
My husband loves strong coffee and he drinks the "cold brew concentrate" right out of the bottle.
I just tried the cold brew iced coffe yesterday and I was BLOWN AWAY!! It was soo good! I never ever drink coffee but I wanted to give iced coffee a try and this recipe is perfect! Plus my family loved it! Can't wait to try the other 2 recipes! All these recipes are a must try!
I loved the ease of the cold brew idea and I didn't even know you could do this by leaving it overnight! My parents gifted us a French press a couple of years ago which came in very useful. We loved this coffee and the only downside for me was that the vanilla cream tasted amazing by itself but I couldn't really taste it in the coffee. I couldn't find vegan whipping cream, only regular Alpro cooking cream which may have been the reason. Still, another brilliant iced coffee recipe!
Hi! Your blog has quickly become our favorite for all thing plant based! I love the convenience of this recipe when we are on the go. I wasn’t able to find a plant-based cream other than coconut cream and was wondering if you have any suggestions on where to find that? It was delicious but would love to try your original recipe as well :)
I love a good, creamy, vegan coffee creamer!
Curious what heavy cream you would recommend that is not soy based? Would coconut cream work the same way?
Loved this recipe. I wasn’t able to find vegan but next time I might just use something similar. Overall it was amazing and my husband has coffee for the whole week!! Thank you for such great recipes. ❤️ 🍲 ☕️
That creamer is HEAVENLY (tasted it right off the jar). And your cold brew method is so simple, so convenient, I love it. Complicated steps always gets me discouraged, but now I already have a batch in the fridge and can't wait to taste the whole drink tomorrow morning!
Thanks!! Looks delish 😃😃
Thank you so much for the suggestion of using whipping cream as coffee creamer! Amazing as always. You guys are the gold standard for vegans on YouTube!! Love from Romania.
DELICIOUS DELICIOUS DELICIOUS I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! And after making the ingredients initially, all I have to do is drink it for the rest of the week, I'm looking forward to that! I loved this so much, this is 1000% better than any store-bought cold brew I've had. THANK YOU!!!
This is so delicious!! The vanilla cream is super creamy and the flavors work really well with the cold brew. I love that you can make a bunch in one day and have this delicious coffee whenever you want. I have a big sweet tooth so the creamer was a bit under sweet for me so I had to add a bit more agave, but overall it's really good! If you're making the vanilla cream, make sure to taste test it :) Thanks for the recipe Sadia!
This is my new favorite summer drink! I could just drink the vanilla cream like that- I have a sweet tooth. Incredibly creamy and refreshing. Pick Up Limes never disappoints. I know I'll be making this every day from now on. Thank you Sadia xx
I just made this, mainly because where I live (Belgium) storebought creamers aren't really a thing, especially vegan versions. And I love my coffee with lots of (plant)milk and sweetness.
I had to swap out the vegan whipping cream with oat cooking cream, but it still had a lovely thickness to it and the recipe is delicious.
I love how simple it is to make, just make sure you have the ingredients as staples in your fridge and you can make a batch whenever you need it! And if you prefer it sweeter or less sweet, it's super easy to adapt.
Ofcourse after I made the creamer, I licked the spoon to taste test it.. and well.. I wouldnt be surprised if I add some of it to some chopped up strawberries later...
How is it that PUL always knows when to post these new recipes EXACTLY when I need them the most?! <3 We recently reviewed our budget and realized we REALLY needed to adjust our spending habits...and buying coffees out was one of the first things to go! Now, you have provided delicious coffee recipes for us to enjoy, without sacrificing on the quality or overall enjoyment factor. Thank you, as always, for all that you do! I'm so excited to enjoy the cold brew this week!
Thank you for these beautifully simple and delicious recipes.
❤ from India.
Lovely.
I kid you not just last week whilst I was making coffee I had leftover soy cream (Alpro) remaining and I whipped it up and added it to my coffee, I usually prefer cold over warm and when I saw this recipe today, I was like Ahhhh! Yaya. The overnight brew is a great idea! Keep up the great work PUL. In awe of the new website <3
Yaaay! Thank you for your delicious recipes! Love watching you on YouTube! God bless you! Love from Bishkek, KG ❤️
Gonna try it, for sure! Thanks, Sadia. Love from Turkey :)
This looks so delicious! And those beautiful pictures! Thank you for all the love you pour into it. It truly shows. <3 Love from London
I am so doing this next summer!
