Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup (27 g)
    quick oats
  • ⅓ cup (8 g)
    freeze-dried raspberries
  • 1 Tbsp (7 g)
    ground flaxseeds
  • 1 Tbsp (13 g)
  • 1 cup (240 mL)
    unsweetened soy milk
  • ⅓ cup (80 mL)
    unsweetened coconut yogurt
  • ½ cup (75 g)
    fresh mixed berries

Optional toppings

Directions

  1. To a mason jar or airtight container, add the instant oats, freeze-dried berries, flaxseeds, and vanilla sugar.
  2. Mix and store somewhere cool and dry until ready to use.
  3. When ready to eat, transfer to a bowl and add the milk. Microwave on high (600 W) for 3 minutes, stirring once halfway. Alternatively, heat on the stove.
  4. Add more milk for a thinner consistency if desired, or microwave for a few seconds longer for a thicker oatmeal.
  5. Finish with the yogurt, berries, and any other desired toppings. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Make your own 'quick oats' by pulsing regular oats in the food processor.
  • Nutrition tip: aim to use plant-based milk that is fortified with calcium.

Storage

  • The dry oatmeal mix can be stored in an airtight container on the counter, out of direct sunlight for up to 3 weeks.
  • Once mixed with the plant milk, enjoy this oatmeal immediately hot, or leave it in the fridge and have it the next morning as overnight oats.

Delicious! I made it hot. I substituted the vanilla sugar with brown sugar and a splash of vanilla. I used freeze dried strawberries and blueberries. <chef’s kiss>

PUL small logo PUL Team - Oct. 11, 2024, 3:37 p.m.

Woop woop! So happy to hear that the instant oatmeal with berries was enjoyed, Marg, and love the idea to use freeze-dried ones 🥰

Mylee - Sept. 3, 2024, 5:47 p.m.

So tasty! 😋

Kat - Aug. 24, 2024, 5:18 p.m.

Delicious! I reduced the oatmeal to 1/4 cup, and added chia seeds, collagen powder, and shitake mushroom powder before cooking. I only had vanilla extract and forgot to add it until the berries and yoghurt were already on. Drizzled on along with some honey and stirred in, it worked just as well. It tastes like early summer.

Deborah G - July 20, 2024, 4:03 p.m.

Easy and so good, even without vanilla sugar. I’m sure it will be even better with it though.

Michaela - July 10, 2024, 1:04 p.m.

Tastes amazing!

José - June 12, 2024, 6:23 a.m.

Delicious!! I couldn't find freeze dried raspberries but I just used some (frozen) strawberries and blueberries and it worked amazing :) I love how warm and sweet this is 😍😍

Linnéa - June 3, 2024, 6:35 a.m.

Super tasty! Although 240ml soy milk is way too much if you're making overnight oats, 150 or maybe 200 is definitely enough. Trying again with less milk tomorrow 🫶

Alexis S - May 7, 2024, 10:21 p.m.

This is such a quick and delicious breakfast! It’s honestly better than any instant oatmeal I’ve bought at the store before.

Giada Lanza - April 28, 2024, 6:08 p.m.

You are a genius! I just made 3 jars! Finally I can organize my breakfast!

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 29, 2024, 1:37 a.m.

Enjoy your breakfasts, Giada!

Katy - April 8, 2024, 4:56 p.m.

YUM. I had freeze dried strawberries and fresh raspberries so I kinda swapped those. So good with the vanilla sugar!

Francesca - March 14, 2024, 1:26 p.m.

I used frozen berries and omitted the sugar but used a sweetened (vanilla) yogurt (I hate plain yogurt), still tastes great! Although it works best with fresh strawberries, it’s quickly becoming one of my favourite breakfasts!

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 15, 2024, 8:54 p.m.

So glad that you're enjoying the oatmeal, Francesca, thank you! 😊

Perfect for a quick morning breakfast!

Julia Swan - Jan. 7, 2024, 10:51 a.m.

Delicious! I used to cook my oatmeals based on just water. With PUL app I am exploring new ways of cooking oatmeals., and I love it a lot! For this recipe I used just regular oats, as I like them more than “quick oats”. I just cooked them a bit longer (like 7 min on the stove).

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 9, 2024, 6:57 a.m.

Aw how exciting to hear about the oatmeal adventures, Julia! We hope you continue to enjoy the app and recipes within it 🤗

Amsel - Jan. 6, 2024, 9:21 a.m.

Used frozen raspberries and strawberries, delicious and very creamy!

Martunia - Jan. 1, 2024, 3:42 p.m.

This was my first meal of 2024 🙂 I went to a NYE house party where I stayed for the night and I took a jar of the pre-made oat mixture. In the morning I just added oat milk and a quick satisfying breakfast was ready in no time!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 3, 2024, 7:05 a.m.

Aww what a lovely start to 2024! Thanks so much for sharing your experience with the oatmeal, Martunia ☺️

Pamela Harper - Dec. 30, 2023, 8:30 p.m.

I've wanted to try this for a long time. It was easy to make and I loved the overnight version.

Sophie K - Dec. 3, 2023, 11:22 a.m.

Good, a little too much milk for me-took ages to get the right consistency! Tastes great had to use cranberries as freeze dried raspberries weren't available

Francesca - March 14, 2024, 1:27 p.m.

Yes, I agree! I like my oatmeal a bit on the thicker side, I will probably reduce the milk in the future

Ashini Parikh - Nov. 6, 2023, 6:29 p.m.

Hi Sadia,
Thanks for the student friendly recipes. I'm a student right now because of which I always miss my meals. But, with these easy recipes, I'm finally going to have a healthy meal.
I have one question for you. In your video, you said that we can access the student collection meals in the IOS app, but as I have the android app, how do I access those student friendly meals?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Nov. 6, 2023, 10:31 p.m.

Hey Ashini, I'm so glad you have the Android app, I hope you've been enjoying it! 🤗 The student recipes are no longer grouped together under a 'Collection' the app, although the 'Collection' feature is one we will be re-introducing into the app in a few months so stay tuned for that. In the meantime, you can still view the individual recipes. For this, simply go to the recipe filters (the funnel icon on the top right of the recipes tab), scroll to the bottom, and select "New -> Old". Scroll down until you see "Berries & Cream Instant Oatmeal". The following 20 recipes all belonged to the Student Collection (it ends at the "Creamy Coconut & Mint Buckwheat Pilaf"). I hope this helps for now, but in case it also helps, there are other filters you might find helpful as a student, such as the "under 10 ingredients" filter and the "under 20 minutes" filter. You can also always pop us an email at [email protected] if there is anything else we can support with 💌

Anna Lowe - Sept. 26, 2023, 5:58 p.m.

I love how quick this oatmeal is!! It’s also so refreshing & delicious!! Can’t wait to keep making it!

Kirsty - Sept. 23, 2023, 10:33 a.m.

I have been feeling a tad under the weather, I made this for my breakfast and it was just what I needed. Warm, full of flavour and comforting. I used a berry yogurt and some fresh fruit and topped with some chia seeds.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 24, 2023, 2:44 a.m.

Oh we’re so happy that the oatmeal was enjoyed, Kirsty! Hope you feel better soon too ✨🫶

Jule - Sept. 18, 2023, 10:08 a.m.

I don't like the consistency of the freeze dried strawberries after heating. I will leave them out in the future or add them after heating.
I added coconut cream and cacao nibs as a topping. That was super delicious.

Charlotte - Sept. 13, 2023, 7:49 p.m.

I absolutely loved this flavour combo! It made for a quick, easy and delicious breakfast. Will definitely be making again. 🥰

TJ - Sept. 11, 2023, 4:27 p.m.

Made this for the fam as quick breakfasts and everyone loved them! Makes my morning a whole lot easier!

Ree - Sept. 9, 2023, 9:05 p.m.

Perfect breakfast before long morning of back to back to back classes!

Carolina S Lim - Sept. 7, 2023, 3 a.m.

Loved it! Who knew yogurt and oats would make such a good combination? ❤️ I used shelled Hemp seeds, tiny bit of vanilla extract, and greek yogurt -and it turned out delicious! Will make this meal as part of my morning rituals from now on ✨ Thanks PUL team!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 8, 2023, 12:17 a.m.

Yayy we're so happy to hear, Carolina, thank you! :)

Sierra Garrett - Sept. 6, 2023, 12:53 a.m.

Yummy & easy!

Agata - Aug. 29, 2023, 10:20 a.m.

Great recipe! I had this for breakfast and now I know I need to make full batch of this for the future. Consistency is perfect. I used quick flakes made from millet (I am celiac with oat allergy) and it worked great with fresh raspberries and almond butter as a topping.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 31, 2023, 9:15 p.m.

Woohoo! Thank you, Agata 🤩

Nazia A - Aug. 28, 2023, 10:58 a.m.

Also.. is oat bran the same as quick oats?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 31, 2023, 3:04 a.m.

Hey Nazia, oat bran and quick oats are not the same - though they both come from oats! Quick oats are oats that have been rolled thinner and cut into small pieces whereas oat bran is the fibre-rich outer layer of oats 😊

Nazia A - Aug. 28, 2023, 10:55 a.m.

Hey Sadia!! I saw this recipe I can’t wait to try it.

I have a few questions for you. First, can you make a video on some allergy friendly recipes? I’m highly allergic to peanuts, wheat, and well dairy milk with eggs. Not sure if I should consume legumes as I heard if falls under the peanuts category. Second, are quick oats wheat free or should I look for a GF option? It’s been hard trying to maneuver what to eat.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 31, 2023, 3 a.m.

Hey Nazia, thanks for the questions and interest in the recipe! We'll note down the request for more allergy-friendly recipes. In the meantime, you may find adding "dietary preferences" under the "me" section of the app helpful to filter through recipes 🙂

Legumes aren't typically classified under the peanut category, but it's always best to consult your allergist for personalized advice. For example, some people who are allergic to peanuts may be advised to avoid peas. As for oats, they're naturally wheat-free but are often contaminated with wheat during processing. Due to this, it's best to opt for certified gluten-free oats. Connecting with a registered dietitian near you may be valuable to navigate what to eat in a personalized way 💛

Rose M - Aug. 27, 2023, 8:52 p.m.
