Tacos al Pastor is a classic dish in Mexico. Traditionally crafted with meat, our twist features cauliflower, blending seamlessly with the flavorful sauce. Bursting with a light, spicy, and juicy profile, we've topped it off with salsa verde for an extra kick, though you can opt for a milder, unsweetened yogurt if preferred.

Yummy and surprisingly fast! I used frozen pineapple & thawed in the microwave. I found an Al pastor “simmer sauce” at Whole Foods and used the sauce from a can of chilis in adobo. It was just a bit spicy for me but some vegan Greek yogurt cooled it down and balanced the flavor beautifully. I might sub the adobo for more pastor sauce next time to bring down the heat.

Ooo sounds incredible, Lydia, thanks for sharing your experience with the tacos!

Really delicious and easy to make! I used corn tortillas and added in some sliced nopales, which added a nice texture as well.

Delish and the best part was the ease factor. I could not find the paste either but found a powder Al pastor seasoning that seemed to do the trick

Made using taco al pastor seasoning off Amazon, and a mix of chipotle adobo and tomato sauce

Hi! When you say Al pastor paste, are you talking about Achiote paste? Or is it a different thing? Thanks!

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 27, 2024, 7:43 a.m.

Hey Maria, our local grocery store has an "Al Pastor Paste". Al pastor paste typically includes a mix of chillies, spices, and pineapple for a distinct taste whereas achiote paste mainly uses annatto seeds from our understanding 😊

Thank you for the clarification :)

Another amazing and delicious recipe!
Than you ☺️

I really liked this recipe, even though I can't handle spice at all and I thought I didn't much like Mexican (inspired) food.
I only managed to buy chipotle and adobo sauce separate, so I mixed it myself to taste. And all in all I used about half of the recommended sauce amounts.
This is what PUL made me do. Buy ingredients I didn't think I'd like, cook things I was never interested in before and then ending up really enjoying it. ;)

Do you have any suggestions for tacos Al pastor sauce substitutions? I live in Japan, so this is hard to find

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 16, 2024, 12:52 p.m.

Hey there! It might be hard to find a good substitute for Taco al Pastor sauce, since it has a distinct taste and gives this dish its delicious flavour. You could experiment with more chipotle adobo sauce or chipotle peppers, but it might make the dish spicier. You could also check if you can find some Tacos al Pastor seasoning instead of the sauce and use that in combination with more adobo sauce, or lastly, consider making the sauce yourself at home. There are several recipes online, and while we don't have one of our own at the moment to share, we'll put it on our list of recipe ideas to share in the future. Hope this helps! 😊

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the reply and advice! I'll see what I can find.
