This smoothie was delicious and refreshing, with natural sweetness from the fruit and the carrot. I added a quarter beet, I couldn't even taste it and it added an extra nutrient boost. Such a vibrant and tasty drink! It made two very large smoothies.

I just realized that this recipe was supposed to make 3 smoothies. That is accurate, definitely 3 regular-sized smoothies.

I replaced the vanilla extract and maple syrup with vanilla protein powder. It was delicious 😋!

Yummy! I omitted the maple syrup as I didn’t find it needed it. Bumped milk to 3/4 cup, added 1/3 cup cauliflower rice as 1 tbsp flax meal for good measure. Delicious.

Absolutely delicious!! My kids loved it! Made it 2 days in a row. Once pink for them and once I added spinach and flax seeds for me. Obviously it made it an ugly color so kids wouldn't drink it but the taste was still the same!

Aww thanks for sharing your experience with the smoothie, Kari!

This was tasty. 🥕🍌 Mine came out quite thick. Might someday upgrade to a high speed blender.

Ok, this was SO good! And the beautiful color was just an added bonus! Can't wait to make this one again ☺️🍍 I might try it w/o the maple syrup tho!

I am a follower and a huge fan of Pick up Limes since many years and some of Sadia’s recipes are now among my go-to dinners. Opening the app it feels like she’s cooking with our family. So, I hope you will get the constructive spirit of my critique. Sometimes I don’t understand why you add syrups by default, even when there are sweet fruits like banana and pinapple, as in this recipe. Dressings and seasonings are also often loaded with sugars, when they don’t prescribe the use of industrial sauces in the first place (bbq etc). It strikes me even more because Sadia is a nutritionist. I do agree with her that no food or ingredient should be “condemned” a priori, just used with moderation. Yet,comparing Pick up Limes recipes with other recipes from veg bloggers in Italy (where I live), I start wondering if you’re not underestimating the amount of sugar people would introduce in their meals, by planning them according to the PUL app. Thank you.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback, Renata. It's great to hear how much you enjoy our recipes, and it means the world that you've been part of the community for so long 🥰
We appreciate your concerns about added sugars in some dishes. We aim to balance flavour and nutrition, so we’re grateful for your suggestions for more recipes with natural sweetness. In the meantime, if you haven't seen it already our app’s personal plan feature in the Nourish tab includes sugar targets to help stay within recommended limits. You're also welcome to omit added sugar like syrups in recipes if you prefer 🤗✨
