Roasting garlic brings out its natural sweetness and reduces the sharp “bite” we get with raw garlic. This transforms it into a mellow and irresistibly versatile ingredient, adding depth and flavour to everything from dressings to pasta dishes. It’s truly a staple in our kitchen.

Ingredients

Roasted garlic

  • 1
    head garlic
  • 2 tsp (10 mL)
    olive oil

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 390°F (200°C)*. Cut the top ½ cm off the top of a bulb of garlic to expose the cloves.
  2. Transfer to a baking tray, and drizzle on the olive oil.
  3. Roast in the centre rack of the oven for 20 - 25 minutes, or until they are lightly golden.
  4. Remove from the oven and let cool. The garlic can be squeezed from the peel once cooled.

  • * We used top and bottom heating (not fan-assisted/convection).

Can you freezer this as I was thinking of doing a batch of them but won't use it all in 3 days

Hey Maxine, yes, you can freeze roasted garlic! Just squeeze the cloves out once cooled, store them in an airtight container or freezer bag, and freeze for up to 2 months. You can also mash them first or freeze them in small portions for easy use 🤗

It's marvelous (Mrs. Maisel ;p) indeed and every since you shared a video roasting it i have to make it at least twice a month.
Haha, im sorry, looking for a quick fix to eat and spamming pul stasera.
I dont know if you ever thought of it - but as i written below- i love this simple 'dish' when i just put whatever vegetables i want to roast to the oven, add sliced potatoes, and now thanks to you, garlic, and that's it - perfect dinner !

OO, ja też! Jest wspaniały i zdrowy ;)
Nie wiem, czy moge Ci polecić, jedno z moich ulubionych dań, zaobserwowane od cioci z Włoch - do piekarnika na 200 stopni na 25? min wkładasz różne warzywa w plastrach/papryki i pomidory w ćwiartkach itd, ziemniaki; i właśnie dodałąm ten czosnek od kochanej Sadii i to jest wyśmienite; )
Resztki też nast dnia. Pozdro ;)
