I made it for 10 servings/ cookies but it didn't work they didn't spread out.

Hey Luz, we're sad that the cookies didn't turn out as expected. The scaling feature shines for meals like curries and pastas but hits a snag with baking recipes. Baking is more of an exact science, and scaling with baking ingredients doesn't quite play by the same rules. We've toyed with the idea of disabling scaling for baked recipes, but it might be confusing why it's possible for some and not others. It's a bit of a puzzle we have yet to solve. Your feedback is super valuable, though, so thanks a bunch! We're on the lookout for potential solutions ✨

Hey guys, please don’t disable the scaling feature! I happen to loooove this about the app, including for baking recipes (I use it so often)! Thank you & lots of love and appreciation for all the great work you do!

I was able to double this recipe no problem. But I slowly added the flour in until I could roll the dough in my hand without it sticking to my fingers.

Update: this recipe freezes very well. Roll into little balls and place them close together on a baking sheet. Then sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over them. Place in freezer. When ready to bake, no need to bring to room temp. Just pop in and add about a minute extra.

Easy and tasty

Kimberly Ramm - Oct. 30, 2023, 3:17 a.m.

These taste amazing and are so easy to make. My whole family loved them. Because my oven cooks hot I made the adjustment to cook them at 375 fahrenheit and it worked great.

Yay we're so happy the cookies were enjoyed, Kimberly - thank you! A lovely idea to turn the oven down a notch too 😊

Shuvya Arakali - Sept. 10, 2023, 3:09 a.m.

Is there an alternative to shortening?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 11, 2023, 2:56 a.m.

Hey Shuvya, we wouldn't advise an alternative as the shortening is what gives the cookies their characteristic texture. You might be able to use refined coconut oil (the type that doesn't smell or taste like coconuts) or vegan margarine, but without testing it ourselves we can't say for sure it'll work. If you experiment with the cookies we'd love to hear how it goes πŸ€—

Sydney A - July 13, 2023, 2:49 a.m.

Very easy to bake! I wish there was a bit more flavor - I would add extra cinnamon or vanilla in the cookies

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 14, 2023, 8:02 p.m.

Hey Sydney - sorry to her you didn't love these cookies, but thanks for taking the time to share your experience with them. We just retested the cookies with a bit more vanilla and it worked out nicely, so we've since pumped that up a bit. As for the cinnamon, it's all in the coating. Rolling a smaller tablespoon of dough in the cinnamon-sugar mixture creates a greater surface area to cookie ratio compared to using a larger tablespoon. I hope this helps in case you decide to give it another go! πŸ™‚
