What can I replace applesauce with? I don't have access to it

Hey Marta! We haven't tried, although perhaps you could use equal amount of mashed banana. Let us know if you test it out 🤗

This was very delicious! The mocha and walnut complement each other very well.

I don't like the taste of coffee. Can I substitute the coffee by anything else?

Johanna - Dec. 29, 2024, 9:06 a.m.

Do you use real coffee powder or instant coffee powder? Thanks :)

Hi Johanna! Espresso powder is a bit different from coffee powder and instant coffee. It’s finely ground, super concentrated, and has a deeper, richer flavour. That said, feel free to experiment with coffee powder or instant coffee if you’d like, it should still work 🫶✨

Dear PUL Team, I also have a follow-up question on this comment: if using instant coffee granules, would you recommend grinding them (for example with a spice grinder) to obtain a sort of similar consistency as espresso powder or is it fine to just use them as they are? Thank you! :)

Hi Martina! You can use the instant coffee granules as they are, but grinding them into a finer consistency could help them dissolve more evenly and blend better into the batter and frosting 🤗

Delicious! I made this into a pecan cake instead as we all prefer pecans over walnuts as a family. It was incredible! I’d love to remake it with the intended walnuts some day.

Incredible flavour! The coffee-taste is not too strong, it tastes like soft caramelly mocha. I had too little frosting or I had piped it on too thickly, as I managed to cover 3/4ths of the cake. It was delicious and simple to make nevertheless.

We're so happy you loved it, Devon! Thanks for sharing your experience with the loaf 🤗
