Tasty, but not my favorite PUL bowl.

Nayana - Sept. 27, 2024, 5:48 p.m.

I keep making it at home whenever I feel like having something yum, and easy to make.
It needs very less ingredients and is SO GOOD!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Sept. 28, 2024, 5:35 p.m.

Woop woop! So happy to hear this, Nayana, thank you 🙌

caitie - Aug. 18, 2024, 2:15 a.m.

Really happy with this recipe. The sauce is so good! I didn’t cook the caramel sauce as long as I should’ve but it still came together nicely!

Sonia - Aug. 16, 2024, 9:27 p.m.

Loved this but how can I make the caramelised sauce without the sugar.

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 17, 2024, 11:43 p.m.

Hey Sonia, in place of the granulated sugar, you can try a sweetener like maple syrup, agave syrup, or even date syrup. These alternatives will give the sauce a bit of sweetness and help with the caramelization process, though the flavour might be slightly different. You can start with the same amount (¼ cup) and adjust to taste. Just keep in mind that the texture might be a bit different as well, but it should still work nicely!

I really like it. I cook this recipe with half the oil and it turned very good :)

Stéphanie Le Jamtel - Aug. 5, 2024, 8:48 p.m.

Is coconut cream missing from the ingredient list or am I not seeing it ? 🧐

PUL small logo PUL Team - Aug. 8, 2024, 12:32 a.m.

Hi Stéphanie! We initially used a coconut base for the recipe, but in the end, preferred soy cooking cream. We've just updated this recipe header to make it more clear 🫶✨

Kamal - July 11, 2024, 2:08 a.m.

A bit more effort! But so worth it for the wholesome taste and nutrition the dish offers. Asian flavours at it best (used coconut milk . I lightly fried onion garlic and red birdseye chilli before adding to sauce, since we dont prefer raw flavours of these. Not sweet and great for packed lunch

PUL small logo PUL Team - July 11, 2024, 3:19 p.m.

So glad that you enjoyed the bowl, Kamal!

Anita - May 28, 2024, 8:03 a.m.

I agree that it takes a little more time than a quick meal but it is definitely worth it! It's not too sweet in case someone is not sure about "caramel", and it's just something different, a nice addition to the usual meal plan 🤤🥰

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 28, 2024, 9:58 p.m.

So happy to hear this, Anita, thanks a bunch 🤩

Felipe - May 3, 2024, 8:58 p.m.

I don’t say this lightly when I say this is sooo bussin’ bussin’. Which means it’s really really good. 11/10 would recommend.

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 6, 2024, 8:43 a.m.

Oh what a compliment Felipe, so glad you enjoyed it so much! :D

Neen - April 9, 2024, 7:33 p.m.

OMG! I'm eating it now and I'm close to tears because I had such a bad mood day, but still brought myself to do one nice thing for myself (cooking) and this is delicious beyond my comprehension. I'm surprised how well the simple veggies go with the super rich sauce.

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 10, 2024, 1:32 a.m.

Awe how wonderful to hear, Neen! Food has a magical way of uplifting our spirits, especially when it turns out delicious. We're so glad that the recipe was enjoyed and sending lots of love your way 💛

Andrea - April 8, 2024, 7:51 p.m.

I wouldn't have thought that the caramel sauce would harmonize so perfectly with the steamed vegetables. It was fantastic! Highly recommended! 💚

Victoriasr - April 2, 2024, 8:45 p.m.

This is worth so much more than 5 stars. For the sweet and salty people, it is a must !! I LOVE IT 🩷

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 2, 2024, 9:18 p.m.

Gosh we're so happy to hear you enoyed the bowl, Victoriasr! Thank you 🥰

Pamela Brown - March 16, 2024, 4:08 p.m.

Delicious, never would have thought to do a caramel but it works!

Becca Levine - March 9, 2024, 10:13 a.m.

Delicious! I also used coconut milk and it came out great. I love the way the sauce thickened. The steamed veggies went well with the rich tempeh.

Hannah - Jan. 28, 2024, 4:05 a.m.

Excellent!! The sauce is utterly delicious (I did use coconut milk instead of soy cooking cream), and I love the use of tempeh. Will definitely be making repeatedly!

Lindsey Lam - Jan. 24, 2024, 12:51 a.m.

Tbh, I wasn’t sure about the “caramel”—but this sauce did not disappoint!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 24, 2024, 7:16 p.m.

We're so happy it was enjoyed, Lindsey, thank you!

Sabine - Jan. 22, 2024, 7:54 p.m.

Loved it!! 🤩 We used tofu and it was delicious!

Anonymous - Jan. 21, 2024, 10:04 a.m.

Amazing! Made this with tofu, and it was unbelievably delicious. Incredible flavor combinations, especially with some sliced chili pepper garnish. I think I will halve the sugar next time, however, as the sauce was quite sweet. But definitely a new favorite!

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 21, 2024, 10:40 p.m.

Hey friend, thanks for the heartwarming review! We're glad you enjoyed the recipe with tofu 😊

Nella - Jan. 20, 2024, 4:20 p.m.

Wanted to love this but it tasted a bit bland to me, I'm not sure if the extra water is necessary. Agree that it was a lot of work for something that just tasted "okay"

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2024, 4:47 p.m.

Hey there, Nella, we've heard a few similar reviews and have since updated the recipe. Thanks so much for taking the time to help us improve what we do. We strive for 5-star reviews 🌟

Gerrianne - Jan. 20, 2024, 12:43 p.m.

Same thought on the coconut, but swapped some of the cream and water for coconut milk. Really enjoyed it!

frank - Jan. 19, 2024, 8:40 a.m.

Made this yesterday, it was quite nice, but I felt it was a lot of work for not that special of a taste. So really nice, but a lot of effort for it. Also, where is the coconut?

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2024, 4:45 p.m.

Hey Frank, thanks for sharing your experience with the recipe. We initially used a coconut base for the recipe, but in the end, preferred soy cooking cream. We've just updated this recipe to make it more clear 🙌
