Biscotti, the plural of "biscotto" in Italian, are Italian cookies known for their distinctive twice-baked preparation, resulting in a firm and crunchy texture. The word "biscotto" in Italian means "twice-cooked," which accurately describes the baking process these cookies undergo. Biscotti are intentionally dry and crisp, giving them a long shelf life and making them a great edible gift idea. This festive variation combines sweet cranberries, nutty pistachios, and chocolate for a flavor-packed treat, especially enjoyable when dipped into coffee or tea.

These are delicious! I’ll be making them again…and again!

Yasmin - Feb. 9, 2025, 3:21 p.m.

Absolutely delicious! And so easy to make

Linda Fe - Jan. 20, 2025, 4:24 a.m.

I have made this recipe 3 times this week using different add-ins. These come together so easily and are great to have with coffee and tea. I gave out a batch as a gift and was rewarded with smiles and delightful yuuums! Thank you so much!

Luiza Alice - Jan. 19, 2025, 8:44 p.m.

Hey, excited to make them!
Why is adding coconut oil to chocolate necessary, what will happen when f I don’t ?
I love thé Italian ‘biscotti alle mandorle’ , would that mean I should replace 1/3 of the flour by almond flour ?😜

PUL small logo PUL Team - Jan. 20, 2025, 9:19 p.m.

Hey Luiza! Adding coconut oil to chocolate helps it melt smoothly and gives a glossy finish. Without it, the chocolate will be thicker and harder to dip. For a biscotti alle mandorle twist, replacing 1/3 of the flour with almond flour sounds like a delicious idea! We haven't tested it ourselves though, so let us know if you experiment with any twists 🤗

Vaish Ramasundaram - Jan. 1, 2025, 3:53 a.m.

Soooo yummmy! Great recipe.

Nina Monteiro - Dec. 30, 2024, 5:51 p.m.

I got so many compliments! So easy to swap the add-ins too and you got yourself a super versatile recipe

Nezhlya Kyamil - Dec. 11, 2024, 5:11 p.m.

They are very easy to make, but for some reason mine crumbled a lot trying to cut them after the first bake 😥 not sure why. Other than that they taste great and very easy to make, but I couldn't make them as pretty as youts. Maybe next time 🤞

PUL small logo PUL Team - Dec. 11, 2024, 5:55 p.m.

Hey Nezhlya, sorry to hear about the crumbling! It might help to let the biscotti logs cool a bit longer before slicing - sometimes they’re a bit fragile right after the first bake. We're glad they still tasted great 😊

Diane Padilla - Nov. 20, 2024, 1:48 a.m.

Delicious and so pretty!

Steve Elliott - Aug. 26, 2024, 10:36 p.m.

Delicious. Cranberries and Pistachios are 2 of my favourites so had to try this

Steve Elliott - Aug. 26, 2024, 10:38 p.m.

Forgot to mention I had to add another 50 grammes of flour to make a workable dough. Your basic recipe was far too sticky to work with. Came out ok though

Dunja Markovinovic - Aug. 1, 2024, 11:24 a.m.

Great biscotti! I swapped the pistachios for toasted hazelnuts and it worked deliciously

sonia - June 22, 2024, 1:42 p.m.

Delicious! But ☝️ quite laborious and the dough on the stage of manual mixing in and rolling out was so sticky and really unpleasant to work with. I mean I had still a fun time making them on Saturday afternoon, but I don’t think I’d ever make them again. But anyway, thanks for taking me on that journey- love the app and all its unique features!

PUL small logo PUL Team - June 25, 2024, 8:09 p.m.

Hi Sonia, we're sorry to hear the dough was sticky and laborious to work with! In case it helps you or others, you could try chilling the dough for a bit before rolling it out to make it more manageable. We're so glad that you still had fun, and thanks for welcoming us into your kitchen 🫶✨

Jo - May 28, 2024, 3:51 p.m.

Delicious! An easy to make sweet treat. I missed off the chocolate dipping this time but will definitely try that with my next batch. Yum!

Dorottya - May 21, 2024, 9:58 a.m.

Surprisingly simple and really delicious

Alexis S - May 9, 2024, 4:38 a.m.

This is a delicious biscotti recipe! I love the addition of the cranberries and pistachios.

jess - May 3, 2024, 12:15 a.m.

Came out great! Halved the recipe, so only one log. Also skipped cranberries. For chocolate, I melted cacao chips and stirred in some sweetened condensed milk. I would make this again and make 2 logs with the halved recipe so I get mini biscotti similar to what Costco has

PUL small logo PUL Team - May 3, 2024, 12:40 a.m.

Hey there, Jess, so glad that the biscotti was enjoyed. Thanks for sharing your experience with it 🫶✨

Tasnim - April 19, 2024, 3:43 p.m.

Delicious and so easy to make! Loved them thanks!

Michelle - April 9, 2024, 10:52 p.m.

My new favorite snack. I’ve made these a few times but just made them with Anise extract instead of vanilla and couldn’t be happier. I avoided adding the fruit and nuts in case they didn’t go with the black licorice flavor…

PUL small logo PUL Team - April 10, 2024, 1:19 a.m.

So glad that you're enjoying the biscotti, Michelle! It means a lot 🥰

Nouna - April 5, 2024, 6:37 p.m.

Amazing to dip in a hot chamomile latte ! So cosy 💕 I was to lazy to do the melted chocolate but even without it, it is perfection 👌🏻

Snimar Kaur - March 23, 2024, 3:28 p.m.

Amazing. I loved this Biscotti.

Mythreyee - March 14, 2024, 3:01 a.m.

Absolutely in love with them❤️

Sana - March 3, 2024, 8:21 p.m.

I love the recipe it’s so crunchy and so balanced with the sweet cranberries and nutty pistachios but I was wondering if I want to switch the white sugar with brown or date sugar and the white flour to spelt or wholewheat or half n half what should be the ratios for other wet ingredients any suggestions that will be really helpful thanks and also about the baking soda

PUL small logo PUL Team - March 5, 2024, 1:22 a.m.

Hey Sana, we're so glad you enjoyed the recipe! For your substitutions, we haven't tested it out so we can't say with certainty. Do let us know if you test it out though 🤗

Mariana - March 12, 2024, 7:38 a.m.

I did try making this recipe using spelt flour and date syrup and it’s incredibly delicious!!
I also grounded some rose petals along with the finishing pistachios for an extra touch(; highly recommended!!

vempati bharani - Feb. 25, 2024, 11:22 p.m.

Biscotti are perfection.
I love all the baking recipes in the app and they are my favorite.

I absolutely loved the make feature, it had not only the photos but also the quantities of the ingredients. That was super helpful

PUL small logo PUL Team - Feb. 26, 2024, 4:48 a.m.

So glad you enjoyed the recipe and are enjoying the app, Vempati! The step-by-step cook-along feature is on our favourites parts of the app ✨
