The recipe was approved by a bunch of twelve year old girls and me.
I've made them for my daughter's birthday celebration at her school and they were a total hit (or "slay" as I was told).
I've made just the muffins, without the frosting, because I like things simple and frosting free. 😊

Aww this is such a big compliment, Marijana, happy birthday to your daughter! Love that they were "slay" worthy and keeping it simple without frosting is a great idea. Sometimes the best treats are the most straightforward ☺️

Thank you 🥰

I had to swap
- used regular dairy milk
- pumpkin puree instead of applesauce
These turned out great!
I enjoyed it without the frosting.

i made these for my girlfriend’s birthday and they were such a hit!! the cupcakes themselves were not too sweet and super moist, and the strawberry on top really cut through the sweetness of the buttercream. i will for sure be making these again😋😌

Aw how exciting to include the matcha cupcakes in the celebration, Clara! So glad that they were enjoyed. Happy baking 🤗

Ooh these were lovely! Moist. Not too strong in their matcha flavor but I prefer it that way. And that buttercream frosting was really the cherry (or strawberry :P) on top!

I’ve tried these yesterday and they turned out nice and fluffy but I have to say they lack of flavour on its own so the whipped cream with fruit is necessary for it to taste nice. Otherwise a good recipe.

Hey Lucky, thanks for sharing your experience with the cupcakes. The cupcakes indeed have a light matcha flavour so we recommend pairing them with a velvety frosting and strawberries 🤗
