An incredible mix of simple, but powerful flavors. Enjoy this unique twist on a creamy pasta sauce. I added fresh lemon juice on the asparagus and it was great!
Could I please get advise on if it is possible to switch the ingredients for better accuracy in the nourish wheel. For example If I wish to switch the pasta for a protein lentil pasta?
Asparagus plus caramelised onion = ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥 salty & spicy lunch.
I did the sub with lima (butter) beans. They were still bitter after rinsing all the spots under cold water for 10 minutes. So it might just be the brand I got at the store. I didn't mind the bitterness, though. This sauce wasn't my favourite. But it's good to know it as an option, if I ever have this combination of ingredients again. Nice to learn a new recipe.
I used this recipe as more of a concept rather than exact. The Rancho Gordo beans were soaking all day then cooked while I prepared the other ingredients. I added the sun dried tomatoes to the blender and used plenty of pasta water to create a fantastic sauce. I roasted the asparagus and cut into bite size pieces and stirred into the onions along with mushrooms and vegan sausage I had leftover from another recipe. It was delicious and so very good with that sauce. A winner! Thank you for the inspiration and recipe.
I think this was a good mid-range pasta. I used berlotti beans instead of cannellini, and 1 leek + 1 medium onion as this is what I had in my pantry, so this may have changed the dish slightly. It almost had a tuna-like taste to it which was surprising.
Made this for a family of 6. All but two of them liked it. I think the sauce could be a little better, but not sure how.
One bite in my husband literally said “whoa this is restaurant quality”. Super flavourful and yummy 😋
I can’t believe the depth of flavor in such a humble pasta dish. With just a few simple pantry items you managed to create a wonderful recipe -thank you, Sadia!
This was amazing. I used farfalle pasta and caramelized the onions for an hour since I had the time. I will absolutely make this again. I had some nostalgia taking a bite of cold leftovers today-kinda reminded of that Midwest favorite tuna and noodle casserole. 😅
I can’t put into words how much I loved this recipe. The depth of flavor really surprised me. I added a little bit of soy sauce and sesame oil to the onions and I think it highlighted the miso in a really nice way. I also used artichokes instead of aspargus because it was what I had on hand, and it was still delicious!
Wow that is an amazing dish! I’m so excited to make this again!
I thought this pasta sounded interesting but wasn’t sure how it would taste - and I can vouch, it’s incredible! Such a great blend + balance of flavors - the caramelized onions add a sweet + crunchy quality that is really just lovely. The asparagus also add a really nice freshness to the whole dish. 10/10, will be making again! 💞
Such a delicious recipe! I added some halfed cherry tomatoes to make it taste like summer even more😁
The perfect easy dinner for a cozy evening sitting on the terrace with your family
This was delicious! Such a good creamy pasta. I forgot to add the sun-dried tomatoes (forehead slap), but am looking forward to that added flavor next time. Even without them, it was very yummy.
